SBM to remove the Historic Sporting d'Hiver building in Casino Gardens

The Government owned Societe Bains des Mer( owners of most of the larger hotels, the casino, the country club and other properties), is to demolish their  Belle Epoque era Sporting d'Hiver building, currently home to several fashionable boutiques and shops, the Monaco Cinema,  and The Salle des Arts. It will be replaced by a glass fronted building comprising of seven blocks to house appartments as well as upmarket  boutiques including Chanel and Dior amongst others.The architects for the project are London based Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners.(  architects for the London Millenium Dome and the Pompidou centre in Paris).
